Global Maximus Records was formed to realize a simple mission: To discover and deliver cutting-edge music to fans the world over while at the same time maintaining a level of respect for our artists and their craft that is often lacking in this era of digital distribution and big label consolidation. While this might seem like an ambitious goal, our innovations in the distribution realm act as the driver that allows us to give our artists the treatment their talents deserve and the creative freedom to move us successfully into the future together. ABOUT GMR RDP Hospitality Group, LLC formed Global Maximus Records, LLC (GMR) in early 2009 to promote new and upcoming artists and to facilitate the musical component of a new and exciting marketing vehicle created for the hospitality industry—the Keys2Cash program. Because this program creates a favorable distribution environment for talent, GMR has enjoyed significant early success in attracting quality artists. With a long-term program geared toward multiple genres and a very unique distribution model, artists are finding GMR to be a refreshing and favorable alternative to most labels operating today. Global Maximus Records signed the cross-over Country act BadHorse in April 2010. Later that year, BadHorse released their first single -- “Mississippi Rain” -- and was nominated for “Best New Country Group Duo of the Year” by New Music Weekly Magazine. BadHorse continues to impress the label, music industry executives, and most importantly, their fans. GMR will release the group's second single -- “My Little Man” -- in early 2011. Both BadHorse singles are produced by Larry Blackmon. In June 2010, GMR signed the metal-infused Alternative group Least of Which. Their first single -- “Mesh” -- is just a glimpse of what this band can deliver. The onstage energy that their fans crave and admire can be heard in every record they make. Global Maximus Records also signed singer/songwriter Jessica Dawn in January 2011. Jessica Dawn’s incredible vocal talent and memorable lyrics make her singles -- “Shotgun” and “Post-it Note” -- sure to appeal to broad cross-section of listeners and fans. GMR Artists GMR is proud to serve as the home for some of the most promising new artists hitting the airwaves and concert stages today. Our artists come from a wide array of genres and boast styles that in many cases resist easy categorization. At GMR, we give our artists the freedom to break barriers and defy conventional wisdom — and after all, that's what true creativity is all about, isn't it? GMR Artists include: * BADHORSE * JESSICA DAWN * SURFACE RISING * THE 54 EXPERIENCE * LEAST OF WHICH * CAMEO * POPEYE * POKOLOKO * ESINCHILL * RYAN TOBY * BASHANE The story so far……. The five members of Surface Rising create a matchless sonic assault of intense, menacing, yet melodic rock. The band has created a unique style of hard rock that stomps on the boring rhyming couplet clones and has wider appeal than underground acts. Surface Rising's sound envelopes melodic heavy to raging vocals, rock solid musicianship and unpredictable change-ups. Jessie's singing is astounding in its versatility. From Pavement, with its screamo-to -nasally style, to the gentler approach on the balladic Divided, to the more straight-ahead melodicism of Resonance. The band has already shared the stage with a wide variety of great bands such as Theory of a Deadman, Killswitch Engage, Trapt, Smile Empty Soul, and Apocalyptica. The roots of the band began when New York born brothers, Gabe and Fatty, uprooted from Atlanta and moved to Hollywood. There they eventually met up with a determined and immensely talented singer, Jesse, from small town Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Their connection was instant and they began searching for the final pieces. That's where Claude Lee, with his thunderous tone and slick guitar riffs, and the sinister theatrical back-up vocalist, ,Randall Vaughn, Surface Rising speaks for itself, we're not going to categorize our music or set boundaries. We're going to rise above specific styles. It's all rock music, but at the same time a perfect mix of metal and classic rock, with melody and intensity. Surface Rising has an optimistic view on pessimism, and is sometimes dark but always in the light. The band will always be elevating to make more intricate music with more feelings and emotions. The attitude, edge and passion will always be further unleashed. 2011 has already started out as a very promising year as SR with Global Maximus Records and are preparing for the release of their new upcoming CD/DVD box set 'Enter the Rock'. The truth we find and eager eyes will open up, and we will rise ...
